Supported Shear Cutting Technology
In the supported shear cutting method tooling is ground
to fit both the O. D. and the I. D. of the tubing. The
internal tooling, the punches, and the external tooling,
the dies, are in two sections and surround the tubing
being cut. When the end of the tube comes against a stop
finger, the hydraulic system moves the floating section
of the tools in a vertical and horizontal direction.
This creates a shearing action against the stationary
section.
